Dreamy, sophisticated, sublime

Sorrentino offers us a return to Italian auteur cinema
Moments of silence dominated by Antonioni’s typical gazes, metaphorical and urgent sensuality in the style of Bertolucci’s Last Tango in Paris, Tornatore’s typical sense of mystery, darkness and tension. A wonderful Naples, almost painted, but also raw, empty, poor and unhappy.
Thank you Sorrentino ❤
In this film, Naples is to Sorrentino what Rome was to Fellini, portraying the capital as a synecdoche for national ideals and values, but also as a city of power and great cultural, social and political influence. Thanks to Parthenope, Italian cinema woke up from the lethargy of banality and commercialism.
