I hoped it would get better, it didn't.I am a little older than the women depicted; maybe I was lucky and had more choices. The experiences depicted were not mine.
What about the church's role?
But if you're going to make an artwork you need to more than simply record.There were no layers, only tedious memories.What about holding those institutions for this oppression to account? Reflect on who or what maybe responsible?
What about the family's role?
What about economic/political context?The issues raised have been done to death in many movies, novels, documentaries, we need insights now, not just memories.
